Cody Wheeler is an aspiring children’s book author and illustrator living in upstate New York. He creates stories filled with smart, silly, and wonderfully stinky characters, with one simple goal: to make kids laugh and leave grown-ups happy to read one more book.
As a girl dad, Cody has become something of an expert in the unexpected. His days are filled with mysteries like where that smell came from, how glitter ended up in his coffee, and why there’s a toy in his shoe. At home, his three cats provide moral support, creative criticism, and an impressive amount of fur on his laptop.
He has also developed a particular talent for starting projects, getting very excited about them, and then becoming distracted by an entirely new idea. Fortunately, children’s books tend to reward a certain amount of curiosity and chaos.
When he’s not writing or drawing, Cody enjoys coffee, fishing, beekeeping, and spending time with his family. He finds plenty of inspiration in the funny, messy, and often unexpected moments of everyday life—the kind that are easy to overlook until you realize they might make a pretty good story.
Cody hopes to create books that give kids something to laugh about, something to wonder about, and maybe a story they’ll want to hear one more time.
